Snippet of Love

Your heartbeat echoes on my skin.

Such a tender wanting;

What more is there than this...

the whisper, the sigh

of passion's sweet persuasion...

the ecstasy

of love's sweet reply.

  2. I like the way you set this up as an exchange between the sigh of desire and the frisson of ecstasy in a single line that also is closed with an end rhyme, ¨sigh, reply.¨ Excellent short lyric poem of surrender, Cheryl!

    I so like the look of your personal blog here, my dear. Very professional in all ways, perfect as an introduction to your work off Gather.

    You have a typo with ´echos´, you mean ´echoes´ in third person singular present tense.

  3. Cheryl,

    So good to be following you a bit more closely. Goodness, Cheryl! I simply love this piece; perfection in brevity and intent.

    Heartbeats echo on skin? YES, they do; don't they?

    "passion's sweet persuasion..."

    "love's sweet reply."

    Wonderful imagery - just stunning work in such few words. I also love the way the writer seems to drift into contentment and utter happiness with the realization of:

    "What more is there than this..."

    Nice!
