You gave me 10 stars for good behavior,
(but I really wasn't so good)
It didn't take long for me to learn
how to move,
how to cry,
how to smile,
how to fly
far away from my broken dreams,
into the arms of reckless schemes
and handsome young men
who wanted me for more
than just a handshake...

I bled and cried,
I laughed and died,
I dreamed awake;
My soul was fake,
not even recognizing
who I was inside...
